Organic Farm Visit

We visited GK Organic Farm, located at Kampung Sungai Buah (somewhere near Bangi).  We went with 2 friends and 2 neighbours.  We’re served with welcome fruits (organic banana), we’re encouraged to eat with the skin as it’s full of nutritious.

After briefing, it's time for us to visit the farm.  We need to walk with barefoot throughout the farm visit, it was a free foot message experience (hahaha), but the kids a bit reluctant to do so.

There’re variety of vegetables, fruits and plants, he special highlighted the difference of male and female papaya, the longer one is male whereas the rounder one is female.

Initially Ryan complaint that it’s very hot and ran back to the meeting area, luckily EnYee called him back again and he’s enjoyed the whole tour.

The composites need a minimum of 6 months to mature and it depends on weather and other circumstances.  It doesn’t have any smell at all.

After visiting all the plants, we had a chance to hands on as a farmer, again the kids complaint that the feet were dirty while stepping on the wet soil.  Then we proceeded to harvest the sweet potatoes, the leaves have been cut off and we just used our hand to dig.  Of course, we’d a free packet of sweet potatoes to bring home.

After washing our hands with pail of water, we’re served with chilled fresh organic sugarcane juice.  Mr Gan demonstrated the making process of enzyme, and he fed each of us a teaspoon of mint basil enzyme.  He claimed that it’s tremendous benefits on sore throat, flu and cough.

Thereafter, we’re served with the organic vegetarian buffet lunch, it’s super delicious, the Chef was really put a lot of effort in creating and cooking.

Mr Gan did explain to the kids near the pond and encouraged them to go into the pond and explored.  He also showed a plant which was looked like a bird and let the kids tasted a flower.

I didn’t buy many, just bought the mint basil enzyme, vegetables, roselle and peanut roots.

What a great experience to the children as well as the adult.  This is a great place to be back to the nature, breathing the fresh air and recharge yourself.
