Lego Duplo Base Plate

We joined the Lego Club organised by a homeschool community, and one of the things that we need to bring is the Lego base plate, so I bought 1 for Ian and 1 Duplo base for Ryan.

Ryan likes it so much, and played with it immediately...

My Body

Homeschool my little one with fun activity, I started with "My Body".

Part I:
Ryan already knew the part of his body, including the name and function, so Ryan as a model, Bro Ian will help to draw the body outline with pencil, I helped to draw the final outfit with marker pen.  Besides, I wanted him to recognize his kindy uniform by drawing it.

Part II:
It's colouring section, Bro Ian and Ryan coloured together, and I let them used the water colour.  Nevertheless, if you observed carefully, there's some defects, but I was satisfied because the purpose was to let them enjoy the activity in the process.

I printed the vocabulary, cut into individual, placed in a small panel, and Ryan applied glue on it and stuck on the appropriate line.

I think in the process, the teaching points will be:
-  cultivate team work & cooperation;
-  recognize rules;
-  able to follow instruction;
-  learn the vocab;
-  fine motor skill

Gel Hair

Suddenly, Ryan requested daddy to gel his hair...
After kindy, I asked him:

Me:  Did anyone say that your hairstyle is nice?
Ryan:  No.  When I reached kindy, my hair already flat, no more gel...

Peanut Roots

I bought a bunch of fresh peanut roots from the organic farm during the farm visit.  There's a believe that it'll help the kids or young adult to grow taller.  The owner of the farm said it'll regenerate new cells in our body.

After reaching home, Ryan was helping me to remove the peanut shells, I found that it's a bit time consuming to wash, scrap and soak it in the water until clean, so to make the day easier for tomorrow.

I added a bunch of peanut roots with the peeled peanut, red dates, pork ribs, and forgot to put some wolfberries.

Super delicious!  Hubby requested to boil again and the kids love it...

Normally I'll bring the kids to playground at 6pm, and it's raining today, so we just stayed at home.  I asked them what did they want to do?

Ian:  read story book
Ryan:  draw something
Me:  what do you want to draw?
Ryan:  em, raining

I brought him near the window, looked out, and he said ok I drew this...

Organic Farm Visit

We visited GK Organic Farm, located at Kampung Sungai Buah (somewhere near Bangi).  We went with 2 friends and 2 neighbours.  We’re served with welcome fruits (organic banana), we’re encouraged to eat with the skin as it’s full of nutritious.

After briefing, it's time for us to visit the farm.  We need to walk with barefoot throughout the farm visit, it was a free foot message experience (hahaha), but the kids a bit reluctant to do so.

There’re variety of vegetables, fruits and plants, he special highlighted the difference of male and female papaya, the longer one is male whereas the rounder one is female.

Initially Ryan complaint that it’s very hot and ran back to the meeting area, luckily EnYee called him back again and he’s enjoyed the whole tour.

The composites need a minimum of 6 months to mature and it depends on weather and other circumstances.  It doesn’t have any smell at all.

After visiting all the plants, we had a chance to hands on as a farmer, again the kids complaint that the feet were dirty while stepping on the wet soil.  Then we proceeded to harvest the sweet potatoes, the leaves have been cut off and we just used our hand to dig.  Of course, we’d a free packet of sweet potatoes to bring home.

After washing our hands with pail of water, we’re served with chilled fresh organic sugarcane juice.  Mr Gan demonstrated the making process of enzyme, and he fed each of us a teaspoon of mint basil enzyme.  He claimed that it’s tremendous benefits on sore throat, flu and cough.

Thereafter, we’re served with the organic vegetarian buffet lunch, it’s super delicious, the Chef was really put a lot of effort in creating and cooking.

Mr Gan did explain to the kids near the pond and encouraged them to go into the pond and explored.  He also showed a plant which was looked like a bird and let the kids tasted a flower.

I didn’t buy many, just bought the mint basil enzyme, vegetables, roselle and peanut roots.

What a great experience to the children as well as the adult.  This is a great place to be back to the nature, breathing the fresh air and recharge yourself.

Collect Garbage

Ryan walked to me and collected the garbage while I started my house work in our study corner.  I checked back the age-appropriate chores for kids, "collect garbage" is under early elementary (age 6-8).

On the normal day, he's able to:
-  pick up/put away toys
-  put clothes in the laundry basket
-  vaccum cushions/floor
-  set table
-  clear table

I'm impressed that he brought my cup to the sink without any instruction.

Ian was requested for steamboat dinner last night, so I cooked today, just a simple one for few of us...

After dinner, I suggested them to draw "steamboat", only Ryan completed, Ian just coloured half of it...

We're sitting on a rectangle table, and why Ryan drew a round table???
