Backyard Monsters and Dinosaurs

My purpose is to bring the kids to see and look closer how interesting and important the insects are in their own life and environment and also to stir up their curiosity on dinosaurs.  Unfortunately, the displays are in bigger scale plus darkness, so the kids were extremely scared of going in, I only managed to grab Ian in for a while and it didn't serve my purpose at all, didn't really read and understand it.

After visiting, we took time to enjoy the scenery of the lake right next to the exhibition hall and proceed to the lake cruise for a walk and leisure.

Date:  31 Aug 2013 - 28 Feb 2014
Time:  10am - 10pm
Venue:  Marina Putrajaya
Entrance Fee:  RM10 (Adult); RM6 (Child)

Bukit Jalil Park

My neighbour Vennessa invited us to Buikit Jalil Park to have a mini picnic during the Term 4 school holiday.  The kids enjoyed playing with each others, breathing fresh air and being under the sun.  They played at the playground, played "eagle catches the chicks" and "london bridge is falling down", plus fish feeding at the lake.  Sometimes, the simple the better...

Penang Trip

Hubby likes to stay fit and healthy, he started to run this year and have participated in few RUNs, he joined the big crowd of 27,000 people for a marathon along the Penang Bridge, this's the 5th RUN for the year 2013.  At the same time, we took this opportunity to have family time together in Penang.  For the runners, there's a list of hotel offered a discounted room rates, we're able to get a reasonable rate at Gurney Resort.

VBS 2013

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a specialized form of religious education which focuses on children, it takes place once a year and usually it will take 2 - 3 days vary from the age of the children.  I think it is the happiest place to be for children ages 5 years to 12 years old.

Each VBS program follows a unique theme, it's including games, crafts, bible lessons/stories, and other activities...

This year theme was "Pirates of the "I Don't Care"-ibbean".

Sweet Brother

After attending Ryan's parent teacher meeting, we reached home a bit late.  Get everyone up to the bedroom, I peeped from the bathroom and saw Ian was reading the story book to Ryan.

Learning Numbers_11 & 12

Prepare him to K1, so I started to teach him number 11 & 12.  Get him to count it by using ice-cream sticks, crafts deco and his favourite lego bricks.

Fish Feeding

After preparing 100 slices of bread for Children Church, there're 1 packet of left over bread skin, so took this opportunity to spend time with them, I brought them to the nearby lake called Lake Valley in Tun Hussein Onn.  The lake is quite big, really need to monitor them.  They enjoyed feeding the fish, there're a lot of fish, large and slow in movement.  There's also a playground, after feeding fish, they played a while there...

It's been a place filled with mother & sons moments...
fish feeding outing, worth of going...

Ryan Year 4 Graduation & Concert

Class:  4 Praise
Venue:  New Generation Harvest Church
Award:  Best Student in English

Ryan was so excited, kept asking when he can wear the "agogo" costume.  He requested to gel hair, and I put some make-up for him.  Once he dressed up, he posted whatever and I just shot as many as I can.

He's so well-behaved and waited patiently in the waiting room.  I was surprised of his performance on the stage as he's extremely shy.

Well done, Ryan!

Ready to go!
