Taiping

With the invitation below, we decided to make a 3D2N trip to Taiping, we’re lucky to make a room reservation at the same hotel, Flemington Hotel.

This is a food list compilation recommended by Caleb, and we were managed to find and have a lot of cheap food.

1.    Medan Makan Larut Matang – Larut Matang 小贩中心 (Jalan Panggung Wayang, Taiping) 旧的 The Store 对面

a. Stall 72 : 流沙包 (7am – noon)

b. Stall 83 : 大叶婆包炒粿条 (late morning until late afternoon)

c. Snow Ice dessert （Ice kacang）:太平雪山 : area opposite Peace Hotel, along Jalan Sultan Iskandar

d. Stall 78: Fish ball Char  Koay Teow (Taiping Specialty)  

e.         菜头糕 (cai tao kueh) : Middle section near the staircase, facing Jalan Panggung Wayang

 2.  Bismillah Chendol – Lot 233, Jalan Barrack, Taiping (1 block from SM St George Boy school, shop-front facing cross street)

3.   太平薄饼－太平豆水 (lunch) – Corner shop at jalan Panggung Wayang & Jalan Kelab Cina junction  

4.   南江茶餐室：云吞面 (早市) – Jalan Panggung Wayang (Corner shop, right beside public toilet)

5.   太湖&初记美食中心 (太平湖畔，从Flemington向左走300m)

a. 蚝煎

b. 福建虾面

c. 十八丁咖喱面/卤面

d. Lobak  （Assorted Fried food）

e. 烧鱼

6.   PSL Goreng Pisang (and all types of fried snacks, early afternoon onwards)– Jalan Pasar – 和大千茶餐室同排，大千也出名薄饼和炒粿条，但个人比较喜欢豆水的薄饼)

7.   太平猪肠粉（早市）- Stall C37，太平小贩中心 (pusat Penjaja Taiping, 靠近救火局，从太湖/初记美食中心往市区方向走100m)

 Day 1:

Arrival of the day, we had our delicious food and cheap price as per the above food list.  Thereafter, the wedding dinner was served in the hotel.

Day 2:

The way of these trees grow is just unbelieveable.  The branches can recline so nicely over the road that the leaves can touch the lake’s water.

Escaping the heat and have fun in the hotel pool...

After dinner, we proceed to visit night safari as everyone recommended it as a must go place, we really looking forward to it, but it was extremely disappointed with it.  Basically we hardly see any animals while touring the whole safari on the tram.  The animals must be either sleeping, hiding, or it’s really too dark to spot them.

Day 3:
After breakfast in the hotel, had a walk again in the lake garden and we left Taiping.

The location of the hotel is nice and convenient, the park is opposite the hotel and the Taiping Zoo is just next to the park.  Taiping is such a nice, peaceful town.  Imagine, if we stay nearby, we get to relax or jog in such a beautiful place everyday whenever we like.
